Sellaronda: Green
The Sellaronda CounterclockwiseThe legendary Sellaronda can be ridden in two directions. While the clockwise route is marked with orange signs, follow the green signs to ride the Sellaronda counterclockwise. Opinions differ as to which direction is more beautiful. However, many skiers find the green route easier than the orange one. What makes the Sellaronda truly exceptional are three key features. First, it’s a ski circuit accessible to more than just seasoned skiers. Secondly, the quality of the pistes is excellent. Thirdly, the Sellaronda offers unrivalled views of the most famous Dolomite peaks.

DescriptionYou start the green Sellaronda directly in Selva Gardena with the Ciampinoi lift. Now cross the Città dei Sassi to reach the Passo Sella. From here, descend to Pian Frataces/Lupo Bianco. The Pian Frataces/Lupo Bianco cable car then takes you to the Passo Pordoi ski area. A breather on the Passo Pordoi is followed by the picturesque descent to Arabba.
Arabba offers you the chance to get up close and personal with the impressive Marmolada. If you have enough time, take one of the Porta Vescovo lifts and briefly follow the orange Sellaronda. After your spontaneous excursion, the lift will take you back to your starting point in Arabba. After crossing the village, you can take several chairlifts up to Passo Campolongo. The green arrows show you the way to Corvara.
Experienced skiers should take the opportunity to ski down the black Gran Risa piste, which hosts two World Cup races every year. If you want to treat yourself to this thrill, take the lift towards Col Alt and follow the signs to Gran Risa. To get back to the Sellaronda, follow the signs to Corvara. You should allow about an extra hour for this special adventure.
To get back to Val Gardena, take the Borest lift in Corvara to Colfosco. Further lifts will take you up to the Passo Gardena, from where you can enjoy a final marvellous descent down to Selva.
Sellaronda: Info
Helpful Tips- The green Sellaronda is suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers. You can easily complete it in a single day. However, it is important to start the tour before 10:00 am. This will ensure that you arrive at the last lift before closing time, even if the piste is very busy. There are numerous huts where you can take a long lunch break. Make sure you plan time for refreshments and leave yourself a buffer for spontaneous detours to special descents.
- You should definitely check the weather forecast before your tour. In unfavourable weather conditions, the lifts on the Sellaronda are sometimes closed.
- The Dolomiti Superski ski pass is required to use the lifts on the Sellaronda. It is valid for all ski areas that you pass through on the tour.
