As far back as the middle agesThe history of Colfosco dates back to the 12th century: the name ‘Calfus’ was first mentioned in an edition of the book of the Augustinian monastery of Neustift near Brixen from 1142 to 1155. The S.Vigilio Church and the Sorà and Zecca di Ruatsch farms still bear witness to the long tradition of the Dolomite village. Today, tourism is the most important economic sector in Colfosco.
