A Dolomite village with a long historyLong before the Roman Empire, the first fortified settlement was established below Monte Burz. During the Middle Ages, Arabba was under the administration of the Prince-Bishopric of Brixen, and from 1814, it became part of Tyrol. The mountains around Arabba saw fierce battles during the First World War, and after the war, the village was incorporated into the region of Veneto.
Since the completion of the Great Dolomite Road in the early 20th century, Arabba has become a popular travel destination. Today, tourism is the most important economic sector in the area.
